Samantha Simmons, born and raised in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, grew up surrounded by the arts. Both parents worked in the theatre industry, encouraging Samantha and her twin sister to do the same. While neither sister pursued the performing arts as a career, Samantha did continue to study visual arts. Her interest in the arts began when she was a child and throughout her life she has experimented with and worked in many mediums, but her passion lies in photography.
Samantha earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in photography from Arcadia University where she graduated Cum Laude and with Departmental Honors in the spring of 2017. While studying, her work was included in the 2014 and 2016 Arcadia University Biennial juried shows. Samantha’s photography was accepted into the 2017 Spring FotoFilmic Shortlist show in Vancouver, Canada, and she received an honorable mention in the Colorado Photographic Arts Center annual member show. She will be published in the October issue of The Woven Tale Press, an online magazine showcasing literature and art. Samantha's work is currently on display at Lancaster Galleries in her hometown.
